What is Heaven Like?

The road that we have never traveled on is a road that we can create our own perception of what it looks like. There are many perceptions of what Heaven is going to be like. If we have never been there we create in our minds what we think we will experience. One of the perceptions of Heaven is that it is a place where harp music is popular.  Another perception is that Heaven is going to be boring and hell will be the party place where all my friends will be. Still another perception is that Heaven is like one unending Church Service. With a description like this, who is looking forward to go to Heaven?

According to one has been there, God. His description is totally different then how people imagine what Heaven is like. Think about this one thought of the many Bible descriptions of Heaven. In the Book of John it says that God is creating us an eternal home for us. So God has us in mind in the construction of Heaven, in what we would like and what we would enjoy. Heaven is going to be a perfect fit for us. The “us” would be His children who believe in Him. He knows us better than we know ourselves. I believe He has a perfect set of blue prints for creating a place where we would enjoy. We will not feel out of place as a stranger in a foreign country. It will feel like home as ever a place has felt like home.  HOME SWEET HOME will be the sigh of our souls.

Jesus Left so...

Jesus advised His disciples that He must be sacrificed so that He could send the Parakletos (the Comforter), Who would continue His ministry:

... I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you (John 16:7 KJV).

So, the Spirit's role was to shift from directing people from the outside to living within believers and guiding them from the inside.

This is Biblical, as Christ had to be sacrificed first for the Spirit to continue His ministry. The Bible verifies the approaching personal indwelling of God
the Holy Spirit.

This is better, as it is more effective to start at the center of our affection. At our control center.

Now the Believer has the indwelling presence of God, the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was willing to move over.

If we will move our self out of the way, the Holy Spirit will be there to guide us and empower us.

“Lord I send myself away that you may have the freedom to work in me and through me.”

Jesus Knew…Jesus Knows

Before Jesus death on the cross, He tells His disciples that He will die on Passover by crucifixion (Matt. 26:1-2). Jesus knew about the religious leaders plot to Kill Jesus( Matt 26:3-5; Mark 14:1-2; Luke 22:1-2; John 11:47-53), and Judas's betrayal contract (Matt 26:14-16; Mark 14:10-11; Luke 22:3-6; John 13:2;13:27;6:70-71).
Think about this:
Jesus knew He was going to die as a sacrifice. He tried to prepare the Disciples about His pending death, but, it went right over their heads. Mary anointed His body with an expensive perfume. They argued that it was a waste of money. Jesus said she was preparing His body for burial. Jesus knew Judas was going to betray Him by turning Him over to the High Priest for questioning & eventually experience death by the cross. The plot to kill Jesus was gaining momentum.  Jesus knew and Jesus knows. God knew then and He knows now. He knows tomorrow. He knows my friend. Believe that He knows. Trust that He has a plan that is bigger and more important than our plotting.
I thank you that I can relax, rest in the truth that you know what is happening in my world.
I trust you with the circumstances that are out of my control. I surrender them to you and choose to stop plotting and let you lead the way.
Help me to recognize that you're always at work in my world and that your plans are higher than mine.
In Jesus name,
