What do I do with Critics?

A few years ago there was a person, who I believe meant well, that was very critical in my leadership style and preaching. I was constantly being criticized and compared to other Pastors. I felt beaten down and went to God and His Word for answers.

God gave me a verse that helped me deal with that person.

It has meant so much to me that I placed it on my google calendar so that each day it is a reminder that the Holy Spirit has gifted me and shaped me to be used just as I am. Today when I hear “suggestions” in an area I should change, I seriously listen, pray about it and take it in if needed but if it goes against what I believe how God has shaped me to serve, I don’t take it personal and try to treat is as a tiny rain drop rolling off a ducks back. For I have learned.....

“Be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.”
